Here we have an excellent success rate at finding wild crocodiles and birdlife including sea eagles, ospreys, kites, kingfishers, herons and waders. The forest scenery is spectacular with fascinating vegetation set against a back-drop of the coastal ranges.
Port Douglas Boat Hire
Departing from the Marina Mirage, explore 15km of tranquil mangrove forest at your leisure. Port Douglas Boat Hire offers pontoon boats which are licensed to carry six people and are great for families and groups, as well as dinghies which are licensed to carry up to three people. No boat licence necessary.
The Kuku Yalanji
The award winning Kuku Yalanji Dreamtime Guides at Mossman Gorge will share their personal experiences and their intimate relationship with the Strangler Fig tree that bears many sacred stories. They will also tell you stories behind the Mountain Spirit that overlooks and protects the Mossman Gorge area. Dreamtime Children on the Guided Tours will learn about rock art (body paint), didgeridoo playing and Yalanji Art, rainforests flora and fauna.
The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary
The Rainforest Habitat is a wildlife park of the future and world leader in mixed immersion exhibits. It is situated in Port Douglas, on eight acres of land that has been recreated to provide a window into our natural environment. Visitors can wander through three different and unique environments that depict numerous species of the surrounding rainforest, wetlands, and grasslands.
Tennis
Tennis is a fantastic activity for everyone. The Port Douglas Tennis Club is a five minute walk from Peppers Beach Club and has three Astroturf surface courts available for hire. Please see the Tour Lounge to check availability as court bookings are essential. We also offer racquet and ball hire.
