Hanners Restaurant offers an ambient atmosphere suited to couples, families, corporate groups and private functions. Hanners Restaurant offers a modern Australian cuisine with Meditterranean influences and views overlooking the Championship Golf course and sand dunes.

Relax, unwind and dine! Try a delicious gourmet pizza fresh from our pizza oven, with a local bottle of wine. Hanners Restaurant offers fresh local produce featuring crisp soft shell crab fritters with coriander and chilli salad and a tamarind glaze or a warmed peking duck breast accompanied by bean shoots, enoki mushrooms and cucumber with a sweet bean sauce. Finish with a vanilla crème brulee, chocolate and pear tart or a frothy hot chocolate or one of our famous surf coast chai lattes. There’s something to entice everyone’s pallet.

The Surf Coast region provides an abundance of fresh food and gourmet wines, influencing Hanners’ passion to use local produce across the menu. Hanners Restaurant ,Bar  and Clubhouse is open 7 days from 7am for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and a snack menu is available 11am - 6pm, 24 hour room service menu is available for in-house guests (Trading hours may vary).

Peppers The Sands welcomes NEW ‘Head Chef’ - Pascal Meyes

Swiss born Pascal Meyes is the sophisticated new executive chef for Hanners Restaurant and Bar at Peppers The Sands, Torquay. He has had extensive training throughout Europe, Canada, Alaska, Chile, Argentina, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and New Zealand, just to name a few. With many cuisines now in his repertoire, Pascal seeks only to cook with the freshest local produce and deliver the finest of dishes.

Meye’s romance with food began at a young age. His interest aspired mostly from travel, and experiencing firsthand, various cultures and the different ways of life. Pascal left school at the early age of 15 to begin his dream of becoming a chef. He apprenticed in his local town before taking his first appointment as a qualified chef in the fine dining kitchens of the glamorous St Moritz in the Swiss Alps. Under the scrutiny of his head chef, Josef Weber, Pascal learnt the importance of perfection.

Years on, Pascal has perfected his dishes, laying great significance on the quality and freshness of his ingredients. Avoiding ‘signature’ dishes, Meyes prefers to keep a small menu that changes numerous times with the seasons. In the Hanners Restaurant at Peppers The Sands, Pascal wants to bring flavour, colour and culture to the table. Look out for themed evenings, cocktail hour canapés, and exciting daily specials.
