You may never want to leave your your plush accommodation and unspoilt surrounds, but here are a few temptations in the Noosa vicinity, should the feet get itchy.

From a peeling right hand surf break to the placid waters of Noosa Everglades, there are dozens of ways to get wet in the area. Head to Boreen Point (25 minutes drive) and hire a kayak to explore Lake Cootharaba, which is also home to windsurfing and yachting competitions. In Noosaville, you can hop on a ferry for a leisurely river cruise, or step it up a notch on a rented jet ski. If fishing is your thing, hire a rod and reel for a spot of beach fishing, or find yourself a charter. Surfing lessons are available on Main Beach, but if you’re already adept Sunshine, Castaways, and Granite Bay beaches are local surfers’ favourites.
Lace on some comfortable footwear and make the most of your visit to this magnificent region. Start right at your doorstep with your own private access to Noosa National Park. Further afield you’ll find a heritage trail in the quaint hinterland town of Pomoma (home to the world’s oldest continuously running silent movie cinema). Or head to Kin Kin, where Noosa Trail Network starts, taking you through scenic countryside and charming villages.
A mere 500 metres from your resort you’ll find the boutiques of Hastings Street, with a dazzling array of designer offerings. There is also another fashionable strip in Peregrine Beach and some antique and second-hand browsing to be done in Cooroy. Markets also abound, with Australia’s premier artisan market held in the region’s art capital, Eumundi, every Wednesday and Saturday come rain, hail or shine.
You are guaranteed a gourmet experience while visiting the Sunshine Coast, with many of the region’s best restaurants and cafes serving local, in-season produce that bursts with flavour. Start your epicurean exploration in Hastings Street, but don’t overlook the many eateries in nearby Noosaville (head for Gympie Terrace or Thomas Street) or Sunshine Beach (Duke Street). For a relaxing Sunday lunch and a chance to mix with locals, the pig on a spit at the historic Apollonian Hotel in Boreen Point is a Sunshine Coast institution.
