The Dan Murphy's Australian Highlands Food & Wine Festival 

The Southern Highlands is to stage the much anticipated Dan Murphy’s Food and Wine festival 2012 at Bong Bong Picnic Racecourse, Bowral  from Saturday 3rd to Sunday 4th March.

Just 90 minutes from Sydney and Canberra CBDs, this two day event is an extension of the existing Australian Highlands Wine Show and will showcase not only the region’s exceptional food and wine, but also arts and crafts displays, retail outlets, live entertainment and plenty of activities for children.

Complimented by a delicious undercover food court,  our chefs Warrick Brook, multi-hatted Executive Chef of the beautiful Montfort’s of Peppers Craigieburn, and Twan Wyers from Katers Restaurant, will be on hand to demonstrate their culinary expertise and knowledge of local produce. There will be plenty to peruse, learn taste and savour.

Festivities will be set to the delightful Jazz croons of popular band Ella’s Holiday , live entertainment by industry legend and local Geoff Harvey and most recently much loved comic Barry Humphries. 

The tantalising wines of the region , including International award winning Riesling , Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties, will be available for tastings throughout the festival and you can enjoy some post-festival savouring by taking the delicious drops home with you.

Golf School At Manor House

Check in to the Southern Highlands to improve your golf with a three day golf school at Mt Broughton Golf & Country Club. Teaching professional Davyd Reeves will work with you on your swing, playing techniques, putting, chipping, plus Australian golfing legend Frank Phillips will be around for a Question and Answer session.

Your golf school includes:

Golf School Agenda:

Sunday (From 2pm)

• 18 holes of golf with cart
• Official introduction to the Golf school by teaching professional Davyd Reeves, followed by Q&A with Australian Golfing Legend Frank Phillips

Monday (9am-5pm)

• Initial full swing analysis, followed by fundamentals and error correction
• Range work on full swing
• Pitching and bunker analysis/coaching
• Golf on the championship course with instruction from your teaching professional

Tuesday (9am-5pm)

• Review of day one, followed by range work on full swing. Chipping review showing correct technique and principles
• Short game – putting and chipping analysis
• Golf on the championship course with instruction from your teaching professional

Wednesday (10.15am-4pm)

• 9 holes of golf with on course instruction from your teaching professional
• Golf School Classic – 9 hole competition
• Golf school wrap up and prize giving ceremony
