The Hunter Valley is one of Australia’s oldest and most well known wine regions famous for its world class semillon and splendid shiraz. Established in the 1830s, the Hunter Valley is home to generations of family wine makers and over 120 cellar doors with many offering complimentary tastings.

An alternative to making the journey to all the cellar doors in the region is the Small Winemakers Centre where you can enjoy the recently opened Icon Lounge. The Icon Lounge presents the opportunity for you to taste a collection of iconic Hunter Shiraz’s and some of the finest Semillon’s including one of Australia’s most awarded, the 2003 McWilliams Lovedale and the renowned Thomas Wines. You will find wines from some of the finest producers in the Hunter Valley under one roof and some that may not be available for tasting anywhere in the region.
In addition to exquisite wine experiences the Hunter Valley also offers over 60 restaurants scattered amongst its vines or along your journey you can collect a feast of local produce from the various cheese shops, olive mills and wineries. All you have to do is choose a spot perfect for enjoying a leisurely picnic or you can relax with a cheese plater on your room’s verandah while enjoying the best of the Hunter.
