The must-do Australian Outback adventure

Located only 80 kilometres west of Brisbane, Peppers Hidden Vale is an award-winning rural retreat that is now offering guests two unforgettable outback holiday adventures. Ranging from a four hour cattle experience to two days of non-stop mustering action, these genuine Australian encounters are a rare opportunity to be part of a truly legendary outback experience.
An authentic cattle station turned elegant country retreat with roots to Queensland’s pioneering past embedded in the early 1800s, Peppers Hidden Vale provides the perfect stage to connect with the romance of the traditional Australian muster.
Peppers Hidden Vale has created a range of grand outback encounters set against the picturesque mountains and valleys of the 12,000 acre working station it calls home. Peppers Hidden Vale offers the opportunity to participate in a real cattle drive from the back of a horse, taste authentic outback tucker and learn the finer points of mustering strays and cracking whips from larrikin stockman guides.
Visitors can saddle up for the Dinner Camp Muster - a full day experience from $180 per person including riding with a musterer and bringing in cattle, morning smoko of billy tea and damper, camp oven lunch and stockyard cattle activities such as whip cracking, roping and horsemanship demonstrations, bottle feeding a poddy calf and more.
For something of more “epic” proportions, guests can extend the muster into an evening ride on the Razor Back range offering spectacular views of the station then enjoy an Overnight Rustic Cabin experience from $290 per person which includes an overnight stay in comfortable bush cabins with ring campfire for relaxing under the stars, evening entertainment listening to yarns by the bush poet and singer and hearty barbecue breakfast before bringing the cattle back to the stockyards the following morning.

“Although the advertised minimum age is 7 – this depends on the ability of the rider. The participation discretion lies with the muster host and if the young rider does not have the strength or ability, then they will not be permitted to ride. Safety first . However, many families participate in this activity (children over the age of 12 generally don’t have a problem) and it offers a unique holiday experience”.
