A true institution of the Wine Country region, Chez Pok restaurant focuses on quality local and seasonal produce, intense but simple flavours and ensuring the food style is complimentary to the excellent local wines. Over the years this highly awarded Hunter Valley restaurant has earned a reputation for delivering excellent quality food, value and a friendly and professional “Peppers” service style.
A magical Hunter Valley experience is lunch, dinner or breakfast on the outdoor terrace overlooking the valley, or a romantic table for two in winter in front of the fire. The Chez Pok lunch menu features a seven-course degustation menu with matching Hunter wines from $95 per person. This is a truly fine way of experiencing a whole range of Hunter dining experiences over just one lunch.
The dinner menu also offers the chance to indulge in a seven-course degustation menu with wines matched to each course. The dinner menu changes with the seasons to take advantage of the best local produce which includes Binnorie Cheese and local lamb and beef and quail form a farm just down the road. Prices start at $130 per person including wine and a vegetarian or gluten-free degustation is available for people with special dietary requirements.
Our wine list offers a great range of Hunter Valley wines including aged Semillon, ripe rich Shiraz, tangy Verdelho and even the Italian style Bardera form a local vineyard. Labels such as Brokenwood, Scarborough, Margan and Pepper Tree are featured alongside boutique labels such as Thomas Wines, Little Wine Co, Merrea Park and Constable and Hershon.

Chef Profile – Head Chef Chez Pok, Michael Bolam
Michael Bolam commenced his career as an apprentice Chef at Chez Pok in 2004, under the careful and passionate direction of acclaimed Hunter Chef, Jamie Hartcher. In July 2005 Michael was appointed as Sous Chef at another highly awarded local restaurant, Shaky Tables.
Michael’s career has most recently taken him to the UK where he held the position of Chef de Partie at the esteemed London diner, The Ledbury Restaurant. The Ledbury is owned by acclaimed Australian Chef, Brett Graham and holds an elusive Michelin Star among many other awards.
The wealth of knowledge and experience Michael gained working in one of Europe’s top restaurants is reflected in each new menu at Chez Pok.
