With a fine reputation for incredible cuisine using the freshest local produce already under its chef's hat, Peppers in the Southern Highlands raised the bar with an exclusive one-off culinary event of MasterChef standard on June 25.
Held at the ambient Peppers Craigieburn on-site in Montfort's Dining Room within the retreat's beautiful estate grounds at Bowral, the Peppers Southern Highlands MasterChef Degustation Event brought together three renowned and respected cooks in the style of the MasterChef series, including MasterChef's own Justine Schofield, who wowed the critics as a top-four contestant in the first series of the smash hit Network TEN cooking series.
Coupled with award-winning wines to match from the Southern Highlands region, diners shared a slice of food knowledge with each cook also taking the time to divulge the secrets of their cooking style and the produce they chose for each dish.
Beautiful wines are an important accompaniment to an enjoyable meal. We contacted Peter Bourne, renowned Sydney wine expert, and followed his advice in the establishment of our cellar, which includes a selection of wines from Australia's larger and boutique wineries.
