He's opened restaurants from London to Sydney, but Peppers Craigieburn is now the new focus for Sam Bidwell in his role as Food and Beverage Manager at the charming Southern Highlands retreat.
Travelling the globe in the food and beverage industry since he developed a taste for it at age 16, Sam has “never looked back”, completing a degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management and gathering enviable skills and knowledge along the way.
“Now I'm at Peppers Craigieburn, my aim is to show guests and locals alike why we have such a fine reputation and in doing so, showcase the great wealth of fresh local produce we have available here,” says Sam, whose last post was General Manager for Pilu restaurant in Sydney's Freshwater, which has won two Chefs Hats in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.
Right now is the ideal time for Sam to reveal the gourmet greatness of this picturesque NSW region just over an hour's drive from Sydney, with Peppers Craigieburn partnering with the historic Peppers Manor House to immerse guests in their 'Gourmet Good Trail'.
Just 15 minutes apart near Bowral, the retreats are hosting a series of culinary events on 17 and 18 August that will treat food fans with the region's fine produce and cool climate wines.

The following morning (Saturday 18 August), join Peppers and FoodPath for a guided full-day ‘Peppers Southern Highlands Hosted Food Trail’ tour of local providores and a delicious two-course lunch for $90 per person.
