Peppers Coorabell Retreat in the peaceful Byron Hinterland has crafted a two-night intensive food and cooking discovery to treat food fans with a unique immersion into the world of food and the Byron Bay region’s finest seasonal produce.
Designed and hosted by Head Chef Adam Hall and Leah Roland from the Bangalow Cooking School, the MasterChef Culinary Experience and Food Education Package will be held Wednesday 2 until Friday 4 November 2011 and includes two nights twin share accommodation, full breakfast daily, three-course dinner at Wilson’s by the Creek, hosted local market tour and cooking school with three-course dinner and Foods Capes farm tour plus a take home copy of the MasterChef Series 2 cookbook and a MasterChef apron.
The unique package will commence on Wednesday afternoon with a kitchen skills class, followed by a discussion of the ingredients and the cooking style of the evening meal at the picturesque Wilson’s by the Creek restaurant.
On Thursday morning, guests will enjoy a full breakfast and then accompany Adam and Leah to the local farmers market to source the finest seasonal regional produce.
After stopping for a light morning tea, it’s back to the retreat for a lunch of gourmet sandwiches and to prepare a three-course dinner.
During the cooking class, guests will unlock secret processes and techniques to preparing and cooking seasonal produce plus they’ll have the chance to discuss all things food – taste, smell, colours and textures, sauces and accompaniments with Chef Adam Hall.
Breakfast the next morning will be a lavish and leisurely affair, with a full cooked breakfast, fresh bread and pastries with homemade jams.
To complete the ultimate foodie escape, guests will then be met by local tour guide Karen of 'Foods Capes' and continue the discovery of the region with a tour of local farms and lunch along the way.
Peppers Coorabell Retreat is located just 20 minutes from Ballina, an hour south of Gold Coast Airport and two hours south of Brisbane’s Domestic and International Airports
3 Day Itinerary
Day 1:
- Kitchen skills class hosted by Chef Adam Hall plus a discussion of the ingredients and cooking style of the evening meal
- 3-course dinner at Wilson’s by the Creek, Peppers Coorabell Retreat’s picturesque restaurant
Day 2:
- A fulsome breakfast to start the day
- Guided tour through Byron’s acclaimed local farmers markets to purchase ingredients for the evening meal
- Morning tea at one of our local food outlets
- Enjoy gourmet sandwiches for lunch at Peppers Coorabell Retreat
- Afternoon cooking class to unlock the secret processes and techniques in preparing the evening meal with Chef Adam Hall
- All the effort and preparation comes to fruition with a superb evening meal, a truly collaborative effort between you and Chef Adam Hall
Day 3:
- Lavish full cooked breakfast with fresh bread, pastries and homemade jams
- Further exploration of local farms and food outlets with local tour guide Karen from ‘Foodscapes’ to complete the experience.
